ABOUT

Designed in 1933 by Northwest Navel Architect, Carl J. Nordstrom, the knockabout was intended to be a comfortable and seaworthy open boat with quick response and enough speed to be raced. It is thought that only two of these vessels were built in the 1930's which makes this, quite likely, the only one of her kind in existence.

Nordstrom's original plans were re-discovered in the early 2000's at the Museum of History and Industry by the Northwest School of Wooden Boat Building (NWSWB). She was built by the School in 2004 using the finest materials and methods of traditional wooden boat building. Her Hull is bronze fastened 3/4" Cedar Planks on Oak Frames with the Transom, Coaming and Rails all from Iroko. The Deck is 2 Layers of 1/4" Marine

Ply with glass cloth and epoxy. The Spars are clear Spruce. From the custom Bronze castings to the handcrafted sails and rigging, the attention to detail is impressive.

Since her launching in 2004, she has been sailed lightly and very well maitained. Also included in her price of $19,500 is a custom steel trailer.
